Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes

Just a short life update today.

I got my dispensation to get my Uni degree (!), and I have a meeting
with the guidance counselor tomorrow. I need to know my options
and find out which classes I need to retake. The semester starts
already September 1st, so I don't have that much time to prepare.

I am only keeping the shop open about 20 hours a week now,
so I hope the Uni schedule won't be too difficult to keep up with.
We signed the contract with the realtor today - finally - and next week
our entire small-town will probably know and talk about the sale.
I am preparing for unhappy customers and impertinent questions.

After the last few weeks' medicine debacle I have quit the horrible
mood stabilizers and am now put on an anti-anxiety drug instead.
It will be a few weeks before I know if it's working, but at least
it can't be worse than being a depressed dissociative zombie.

How are you guys doing?
Any big plans or changes for fall/winter?

  2. BIG HUG! You have tons of changes! People always say that change is good but I find it scary.

I'm so excited for you heading back to school :D And, it sounds like your community is as gossipy as mine. Good luck with the store.

Changes here- I'm the next chair-elect of the English Department (I'm secretly hoping for a department coup because it requires longer hours and listening to adults fuss over everything that makes them unhappy). But maybe then I'll be recognized ;p

    1. Change is both exciting and scary, but I wouldn't say all change is good...
And yes, the small town where I run my shop is certainly gossipy, but going back to school in Lund I won't know a single person. It's a fresh start!

Maybe being chair-elect would give you a fatter pay check? ;)

  6. WAHOO! I'm so excited for you! Change is good. Change is VERY, VERY good. :) And ignore the customers, just tell them that the wind has changed and is blowing you somewhere else. At least it will confuse them. ;)

And good luck with the meds .... they can be a real pain-in-the-butt to get used to.

Actually, so far the customers have been very understanding. It's funny how 6 years in the same line of work is considered a long time nowadays. They all feel the wind blowing :)

    1. Thank you, but don't let my calm writing demeanor fool you - I'm every bit as overwhelmed as you think I should be ;)

  9. Let's hope the new drug works well! You are an incredibly strong person, with all these changes in your life.

On not wanting to be a zombie, you know how I feel about that. I rather be in pain than not there. I'm sending you hugs and good wishes, hoping the new drugs do what you want them to. ♥
