Crawling out of my cave...

Hello everybody! It's been a while. How have you been?

There's been alot of stress in my life lately - emotionally, physically
and business-wise. Doctors and hospitals, stray cats kicking my babies' asses,
my camera breaking, mice in the bed(!), a town Jul fair and too much wine.
But there's s also been sweet moments, good food and Jul plans being made.

I found these sugar skull ornaments and ridiculously sparkly sea creatures
(they seemed essential at the time...) at Rusta, a budget store.
I also got some more purple stuff for the tree - pictures to come.

I have received the most wonderful things from kind blog friends,
like books and dolls, support, encouragement and advice.
I have become a coach/sponsor of sorts for the first time,
and I have spent an inordinate amount of time on Twitter.

Scary cute Dolly Grim from Spooky Moon and lovely books
from Winter Moon and Puddleduck Grange. Thank you again, all!

But I've missed you guys, and it feels good to be back.
My plan is to share a bit of our (Jul) home over the next weeks,
and I'm looking forward to seeing more of yours.

  1. The ornaments look really fun! So glad that's you're back! I'm trying to be back too, lol. I'm almost caught up with homework so that should keep me from having to spend all day, every day doing it.

    1. Agreed, 2014 has seemed like a difficult year for many of us in blogland, and I'm sorry to hear you are so low on energy right now. I hope we can all recuperate and recharge during the holidays.

    1. Thank you, but the sea creatures are actually too big to go on the tree. I really have no idea what to do with them...

  7. Sounds like a real rough patch ... doctors and hospitals and mice in the bed. These are a few of my unfavourite things. Especially those first two. :(

We finally have internet that isn't going to cost $460/month and I am now allowed to spend longer than five minutes a day on the computer. I feel very out of touch - I'm looking forward to your Jul pictures and in getting caught up with all of my favourite blogs! And Pinterest. I really missed Pinterest. Thank heaven I don't Twitter or I'd have missed that, too. LOL

P.S. Dolly Grimm gives me the heebee jeebees.

    1. 460 bucks a month?! What kind of crazy country do you guys live in? :)

I am so glad to see you are back and I'm looking forward to your posts and updates on the house!

I used to hate the idea of Twitter, and the first few weeks were kind of disappointing, but now I use it a bit like Facebook - to keep in touch with my blog friends.

    1. If you lived closer, I'd give them to you! I used to have a friend who loved sea creatures (she passed away), and I was just reminded of her when I saw them.

    1. I am going to save the sugar skulls for Halloween, I think - or I will just get used to them, and I need my Halloween stuff to happily surprise me every year :)

I always get a real tree, but yes, the decorations will be (maybe all) purple this year.

    1. It was in the middle of the night, and our boy kitty was giving the mouse a real good talking to - so we thought that was it. But then suddenly: pitter-patter, pitter-patter - REALLY CLOSE. I lifted my head from the pillow, and then lifted the pillow - and there it was!

  14. Was wondering when I'd see one of your lovely posts pop up in my feed again! Have missed you! And I'm with you on a few of those happenings, especially the hospital visits and too much wine! As for the mice, well I'm just happy it happened to you and not me :P

I'm sorry you've had some bad turns too. It seems many in blogland have had a difficult autumn. I hope the holidays give us all a chance to recuperate.
