Copenhagen shopping haul

Since my camera broke a few weeks ago I have had to use
the old iPad to take pictures, and they haven't really turned out
the way that I want. Our house is very dark even during day
and most of the pictures are turning out ugly and grainy.

I also don't carry the iPad with me, so I couldn't take pictures
from our day in Copenhagen yesterday. So I am borrowing images
off the net for this post, to show you what I got there: A new bag
(X-mas gift from parents) and a glittery coin purse.

If you fancy this coin purse from Lisbeth Dahl (below) I got one more,
that I am planning on giving away as a New Year's Blog Giveaway!
So keep an eye out for the post coming up in a couple weeks :)

It feels really good to be back in Blogland again,
and I am trying to make my rounds and catch up with everybody!
But I'm not sure how to solve the camera issue. I have been using
a 10 year old little digital camera, and my cell phone is almost
as old. I really should just get a new one with a good camera,
but I don't have that kind of money right now.

  1. I love Desigual's bright colours .. on other people. A purse is perfect - just enough colour and it would look excellent with black!

We may pay exorbitant cell phone fees over here, but at least when my two-year plan expires I get a new phone for free. Well, free except that I've paid for it with my past two years' worth of fees. LOL I can't even remember what a ten year old phone was like. Is it a flip phone?

    1. I was choosing between a Desigual bag with less color and patterns, but my whole family thought the more colorful one was nicer - and it does cheer me up :) Though the bag is darker in real life than in the picture.

When are we going to see a new post from you, Ms Insomniac?

    2. I don't know, Ms. Misantropia ... I seem to have lost my blogging voice! I think there are at least a few rooms I'm happy enough with that I can show the world. And then I think, 'Well, who's really interested in seeing them anyways?' And I put it off for another week. :)

    3. Oh, but I think many of us would love to see those rooms! We don't need a grand tour, but I for one would love to see how you are decorating!

    1. Copenhagen is charming and our nearest big city. I rarely go shopping so I was quite content :)

  3. I feel your camera pain. I'm working with really old digital cameras. After I had a taste of DSLRs in Uni it just doesn't feel right to go back to using anything else, but those things are seriously expensive. >.< I rely on Photoshop to clean up my work but it can only salvage so much.

I love those purses. The coin purse looks so vintage!!!

    1. It's true, some scenes and pictures just can't be done with a crappy camera. I have to wait for daytime tomorrow to take pictures of our Jul decor.

  4. Well that explain why my pictures are always so crappy - my digital camera is about 10 years old. And here I thought it was operator error! Love the new purse - very vibrant!

    1. As Ms Ladyfair states above, one can improve most pictures a bit in Photoshop or Gimp - have you tried that? But yeah, I guess we both need new cameras :)

  5. Both of those are very pretty! Cell phones are pretty expensive. I had to get one that was an older model from Amazon and I only got that because my old one was beeping at me every time I made a call and also because it fell out of my purse and Amanda accidentally stepped on it so it was barely hanging on. You might check online and see if you can get a deal.

    1. Hah, I drop my phone all the time! Once I dropped it on some rocks and then I think I actually jumped on top of it a couple of times before I noticed... That cracked the glass display, obviously, and I had to have it changed. That was pretty expensive too.

  6. Welcome back to Blogland! Lovely city, Copenhagen, I went there 25 years ago. Shame you could not take pictures, I would have loved to see how it changed.

    1. Thank you!
I actually don't think it has changed that much, maybe some places changing names and owners - but that charming old European feel is still there :)

  7. I accidentally murdered my little digital camera a couple of days ago. I reckon get hte cheapest camera possible that still works ok. I am probably going to go for a cheap one as I will probably drop it again. Does your 10 year old digi cam still work? The image quality really doesn't seem to have changed from my old one that I got around 10 years ago.

    1. Unfortunately it seems like the mechanics have failed in my digi camera. It doesn't zoom and turns itself off as soon as you turn it on. The really annoying part is that I found the good camera I used before I got a digi camera, but I have lost the charger...

  11. I too need to upgrade my cell. But all this techy crap exhausts me!
Love your bag! Living in a country where our money resembles pirate treasure, I would
Love a coin purse, especially a shiny one!
Well Jingle all the way! Merry Christmas! And don't forget to Rock Around The ClocK!!

    1. Techy crap and gadgets exhaust me too! I am very fond of using it once I have it and it all works, but searching, choosing and installing is such a pain.

  12. Pretty. A girl can never have to many bags.

    1. I actually suck at buying bags. SO much so that I had to make my own last time. I use bags until they fall apart. Boots though, I have so many I can't fit them in the closet... :)

  13. You've found some lovely bags. I particularly like the vintage style of the gold one.

We have a LOT of cameras here. Amber and I have been collecting them over the years and most of them are 1920s to 1980s film cameras. We use one or two of them, but developing the film can be a little costly. I do love digital photography, but having photos developed and not knowing how they'll turn out (never a good thing if they're important photos mind you) fills me with nostalgia.

Have a wonderful weekend, lovely lady. I hope to be back in blogland soon, too. :)

    1. Wow, from the 1920's? That sounds pretty cool.

I don't think I'm very nostalgic/sentimental about things, and my family never took lots of photos. I feel like I take tons of pictures for my blog, but then I see these PERFECT pictures on other people's blogs and I realize that they probably take way more than me.

      Looking forward to you posts!

  14. What pretty bags you bought! I'm a bit jelous because I never dare to wear such colourful bags in public...
