Haunted Humpday X + The Professor's monthly homework!

Happy 10th and last Haunted Humpday,
and Happy Halloween!

Sadly we have reached the end of the Haunted Humpdays
leading us up to, and getting us into, the Halloween spirit.
Thank you for all the spooky stories and inspiration, Marfi!
I have really enjoyed sharing my Halloween home,
and for this last post I am showing our front door
- properly decorated for Halloween for the first time!

Today we're also posting our homework for The Curious Professor Z.
Our generous head mistress, Frannie, was actually the one who
sent me these string lights almost a year ago - and she was thoughtful
enough to include a converter to the European power grid.
They fit perfectly and welcome me home every night!

I made these silhouettes yesterday. I used black cardboard
for the shapes and white tissue paper for the rest of the window.
It was actually much easier than I had thought it would be!
(Sorry about the crazy construction site light behind them...)

The flag is a gift from the States, we don't have those over here.
It's the first time I've had enough decorations to do the front step,
and I'm keeping it toddler friendly because of my little nieces.

(Can you spot the kitty?)

So what are you guys' plans for Halloween?
My weekend is absolutely packed, so this will probably
be my last Halloween post this year. I wish you all
a wonderful and spooky holiday, full of treats!

  1. It looks wonderful!! I have those pumpkin lights too, there my favorite. I'm still working on my costume. Tonight my fiance are having a nice dinner then we will carve pumpkins and bring up the outdoor lights for testing. Still so much to do!

    1. Yes, it's such a busy time!
I have always coveted those lights, and I love them. My new mission are those small fairy lights, with like 100 on each string. We have every color except orange over here!

    1. It's too early for snow! I hope you get to have fall a little bit longer.

  4. Your doorway and storefront look awesome! Have a wonderful Halloween! I'm going to be handing out candy over at My Rare One's house because I live in an apartment now and kids don't trick-or-treat in apartment blocks, only at houses.

    1. Thank you!
I've heard from my man that in bigger cities kids don't even Trick or Treat at homes anymore, they all go to the malls. That just sounds depressing to me!

  6. Great decorations! Your silhouette is fantastic and jack o'lanterns are terrific, love it all!
I'm looking forward to hearing all about your town's Halloween festivities.
My plans for Halloween include passing out candy and having a glass of wine, or two. Other party plans are kind of up in the air since everyone is sick! But then anything can happen.
I hope you have a very Happy Halloween!

  9. Such a lovely doorway! My Hallows will be quiet this year, as grands are off to Other Parents to trick/treat with (as I have *just* found out). So, a quiet meditation to get Something rolling....

  11. Your home looks spooky delicious! We are celebrating together next week--I'm too sick for partying right now. I'm dressing up the Little Princess and she will go trick or treating with her best friend and the girl's parents. I might watch something scary.

    1. I'm sorry to hear that you are still ill! But you are doing the right thing - and Halloween can really be celebrated anytime, all year 'round ;)

We saw a great spooky movie; Stonehearst Asylum/Eliza Graves. I recommend it.

      Feel better!

  18. Looks amazing, Ms. Misantropia! Did you do a big Hallowe'en thing for the whole town again this year? I can't remember. Because if you did, you were a busy girl getting your whole house decorated plus organizing the town's festivities! :)
