Haunted Humpday V and mood swings

Happy 5th Haunted Humpday!

This week I'm having the mother of random mood swings.
My doctor gave me a new cocktail to try out and it'll be
a few weeks before I know whether it's working or not.

Since starting on meds again, my domestic ambitions
have dwindled - and they weren't that great to begin with.
But last weekend I finally did it - I cleaned the house.
Once it was clean I instantly felt a bit better.

And cleaning clears up surfaces for Halloween stuff!
Yes, the bug finally got me, and there is some serious
Halloween planning and decorating in the making.

Making use of my store's suppliers I splurged on myself
this year and got a beautiful wig and my first ever
store-bought Halloween costume! (All purple obviously)

What are you guys going as for Halloween?

Thank you, Marfi, for rocking the Halloween preparations!

  1. Omg I love that wig!!! I still don't know what I'm doing for Halloween so I haven't chosen a costume yet. X(

    1. Since 6 years back I celebrate Halloween together with my birthday, with my family - and we all dress up :) So I need at least one new costume idea every year.

  2. Well, unless someone invites me to a Halloween party, I won't be dressing up this year. But I can always do a credible witch costume in a pinch.

    1. Maybe you can throw your own party?

  3. Wow, that's a fabulous wig! I love your trays with the candles, especially the skull and raven, what a great combination.
I can't get motivated to put up decorations yet, maybe I should try cleaning too. This year I'm hoping to put together a Poison Ivy costume (from Batman) but if that doesn't work out I might give some sort of Steampunk Mad Scientist a try.

    1. I love both of your costume ideas, and I would love to see pictures once you've decided and you're done!

  4. You have so many gorgeous Halloween things. I love the wig too.

I really don't know what I'm doing for Halloween yet, the festivities usually begin after October 1st. There are so many places I plan to go, but I'll have to see if Amber will be home then or not.

I hope the new concoction works for you *fingers crossed* <3

    1. Do you guys have Trick or Treaters? You could always dress up for them :)

Yes, we're hoping to. Thank you.

  5. That wig is great and I can't wait to see the costume in its whole. I doubt if this year we do anything so I will likely not get anymore dressed up than my normal witchy self.

I love all of the decorations as well.

    1. I would be so sad if I didn't get a chance to dress up for Halloween, I would probably just make up my own reason. I totally need to dress up at least once a year :)

  6. I really hope this new cocktail works for you and you can finally get on an even road.
Love the decorations and that wig is beautiful!
I don't know what Amanda and I are going as for Halloween. I suppose whatever we can whip up in time. Being as plus size as we are, we can't find costumes to fit us in stores and I'm sure we'll have the time and money to do much sewing (even though I really want to). :)

    1. I'm sorry you have a hard time finding costumes, but as you said you might be able to sew something. That's what I've done most year's up until now.

  7. I have been doing the same - cleaning helped prep for Halloween decor - fall decor comes after Halloween decor, not the other way around! Usually do something scary for Halloween night and I get hubby involved but my daughter gave me a gift of a Disney Elsa - adult size so I may have to go sweet this year. That will throw off the neighbor kids!!

    1. November is often full on winter here, so fall decor just doesn't work after Halloween. I usually start Christmas right after anyway... :)

  9. I think that purple wig--and the rest of the costume) will make everything better. Hope the new treatment approach works... soon.

    And LOVE your centerpiece. ♥

    1. Everytime I put the wig on I do feel a bit better actually :) Though it does take a hefty layer of make-up to look anything but crazy.

  11. Halloween costumes don't seem that big in Australia. I suppose I could wear faery wings and go as myself.

I love the candles and the bird on the skull. Birds are wicked little creatures, I bet it ate that person, ha ha!

I hope the new meds work out for you! It is frustrating that the brain is such a mysterious organ and so hard to deal with!

    1. We have been discussing that at length lately, how little we know about the brain. It's pathetic really, considering how much we know about other stuff in the body. Psych meds is really a crap shoot.

  12. Oh that wig is so fun! I am so glad to see you getting your hands on some Halloween things. Once again, I'm sorry for sharing the Halloween retail experience in North America lol! I am thankful for your kind comments always <3

  14. Nothing feels worse than having to take a slew of pills everyday, especially if they affect your everyday life in such a way... I'm sorry that you're going through that, but a little Halloween therapy is always a nice break from the status quo!

    1. Thank you. "Halloween therapy" is precisely what it is - what a great phrase :)

I'm still not in the mood for Halloween, but I'm thinking about going as evil Queen Chrysalis from My Little Pony this year...^^

    1. Thank you, on both accounts.

I don't know anything about My Little Pony, except the one I had as a child... Will you make yourself two extra legs and stuff?
