First days of summer

I'm back! And I'm starting my mini vacation today! I have 5 days off and I plan on
spending most of it on our daybed under the sun sail. (Though the weather
isn't cooperating today). After all the hosting and socializing I need to catch up
with myself. The only thing I really have to do is replant my pumpkin babies.

About that sun sail; For several years I've had a big white sail covering the patio,
and although it provided great sun cover, I was never entirely happy with it.
I always wanted a bit more color, specifically purple :) Discovering that I had
some left of Magaly's generous gift last year I decided to try to dye it.

The largest pot I have only fitted half of the sail, so I had to dye one side at a time.
This resulted in a little bit of a tie dye color, even though I stirred as much as the pot
would allow me to. But the hippie look suits me and I LOVE the deep purple color.
Though Cinnamon man might need some time to come around to the idea... :)

And speaking of pumpkin babies; those are the ones sitting on the table
in the picture, ready for bigger pots. The early summer is taking Sweden
by surprise and we have already harvested our first lettuce and radishes.
Soon we'll have to dig the green house to make room for all the goodies!

Last but not least, the invitation to THE party of the summer has been
sent out and I'm so glad to see so many of you already signing up.
I have a feeling this year Vanessa's wonderful Mad Tea Party
will be brimming with colors, mischief and all sorts of yummies!

Are you guys going to join in the fun?

    1. "Happy" is still a bit of a foreign word to me. I always feel more conflicted, layered. But if I look at what I've been writing it surely does look "happy" :)

  4. What a beautiful patio and you know I love, love, love that PURPLE sail!!!! Where on earth did you find it? I bought a white one to tie onto the top of my pergola to see if I can get a little bit of shade during the day, but your purple one is so gorgeous!

    1. I bought the sail (white) at IKEA and I think they still have them. As mentioned in the post, I then dyed it purple on the stove (with poly dye).
