Spring/summer fashion 2014

It is getting increasingly difficult for me to find fashion to get excited
about nowadays. This fall, clothes in stores were downright ugly.
Gone are the days of bountiful velvet and lace, of dark romantic beauty.

Yet, there are a few glimpses to be found in the spring/summer collections.
The first one is Valentino, who combines colorful embroidery with
high necklines and floor length skirts for an exotic and orthodox look.

The second one is at Stella Mccartney, who has made a line of slinky
yet airy lace dresses that look alot like underwear. Some of the dresses
also look unfinished or thrown together, but I'll take what I can get.

  1. I like that most of these dresses are actually wearable and I live the braid updo.

    1. Wearable maybe, but I don't really know when in springtime anyone would wear a floor length gown with a neckline up to one's chin :)

  3. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I hope too for you that 2014 is magical and mysterious. Listen to your hearts desires and you'll be guided to where you need to be. I find that thrift stores have hidden treasures comparable to the fashion world, you just have to dig through to find treasures.

    1. It's been ages since I visited a thrift store. I used to be an avid thrifter, but since I moved out in the countryside I rarely come by any thrift stores.

  4. Some of those are really pretty.
    I agree with Mexitali Rose.
Some of the best hidden gems are to be found at second hand and charity shops.
And the most unique are the ones we make ourselves :)

    1. Agreed. I miss thrifting. My crafts room has also been made into some kind of storage space the last 6 months, which just sucks but is totally my own fault.

  5. While I like the pattern play & movement, not one dress is built for a woman. Def. girls only.

    1. Yes, some of them are hard to wear, but I only look at them as inspiration. No way could I ever afford any of them anyway :)

  6. Loving these runway looks. I'm getting pickier and pickier these days. Finding myself drawn to hippie, gypsy prints and flowing caftans and kimonos.

    1. I think I have really cemented my own style over the last 5 years, since I started my own store and can wear what I want every day.

Lately I have been falling behind answering comments, for many reasons. But I read and cherish all of them! Your comments make my day, yay!
