More comfort food

I have worked 6 days this week, and I feel like a zombie.
Tonight we have big plans; we're gonna watch a movie, maybe two.
But before we collapse in to bed I thought I'd share some pictures with you.

There is an old semi-fallen apple tree in our garden,
and only recently have I understood that it's an heirloom variety
and not just another wild apple tree (of which there are 3 on the property).

I picked the first batch yesterday, and today while I was cooking dinner
Cinnamon man made his first ever cobbler/ crumble!
It was a little tangy but lovely, and we ate it with some vanilla whip.

How are you guys spending the weekend?

What a sweetie he is... He did a great job:)
And you so deserve to have someone make you dessert!
I'm up to make a friend of mine into a zombie this morning:)
He works at a haunted attraction and he needs his make up done...
I'll probably post photos on HH this week.
Then off to the grocery store to get salad and pasta stuff... It's cool here and I crave pasta whenever it's not 400 degrees outside lol
You can imagine the damage I do all winter hahaha!

    Take care of yourself.
    See you soon

    1. Ooo, I would love to see those pictures - yes, please post for HH!
I too am a pasta lover, and could probably eat it every day, had Cinnamon man shared my addiction.

  2. I love a crisp apple, but favorite are the green Granny Smith apples. I pair them with cheese or black grapes for a snack. I then pretend I am French :).

    1. Granny Smith does not grow in Sweden. I have always wondered where they grow - in the States? All the natural Swedish ones (and we do have a great apple farming culture) are red and small, and bursting with that real apple flavor, but they tend to be a little less crisp.

    1. Any time you're in southern Sweden, give me a shout, and you're invited over for real Swedish apple crumble :)

  4. That crumble looks super tasty, especially with that dollop of whipped cream-- yum!
I love fuji apples-- they look incredibly close to what you have there, though I have no real clue about apples... just what the grocers may have at the time hehe.

    1. Fuji apples are amazingly crisp and sweet, but sometimes kind of tasteless. They're almost more like an exotic fruit.
Most apples have a hard time growing in hot and dry climates, so being an Arizonian now, you are not expected to know anything about them :)

  5. Aaaw, that apple crumble looks delicious, I think I'm going to make some this evening...:D

Usually we spend our weekends at home too watching movies, gaming, cooking together. Yesterday I met a friend of mine, but today we're having a Star Wars marathon with chips and popcorn...:)

    1. It's pretty easy to whip together, only the peeling takes time :)

  7. Mums.
