Cozy Haunted Humpday lights

My own and Cinnamon man's energy-levels are completely depleted.
It's been a rough couple of weeks, and the house is starting to look it.
Mostly we've been escaping in to books and computers, lighting candles,
making lots of fires in the stove and munching on comfort foods.

Yesterday we put the appeal in the mail.
Now it's anyone's guess how long we will have to wait - again.
It can take anything from 2 months up to another year.
Living from day to day like this is incredibly draining.
I am afraid of losing my family, the life we have made together.

To try to lift our spirits I pulled out the Halloween decorations early,
and I made a big batch of delicious pumpkin spice muffins.
Then we ate them all - some with cream cheese frosting
- before I even had a chance to think about taking a picture for the blog...

Thank you to Marfi at Incipient Wings for hosting these
Haunted Humpdays! Currently I am waiting for my creative spirits to return,
but in the meantime I am looking at all the lovely things everyone else is posting.

    1. Me too, though the pumpkin carving will have to wait a while. The glowing pumpkin you see in the last picture is actually ceramic.

  10. Höstigt och mysigt <3

Jag önskar så att det kunde fixa sig för er, det måste verkligen vara hemskt att behöva vara sådär orolig jämt och ständigt :/

  11. By now you must realize I suck at offering meaningful words of comfort - right, Ms. Misantropia? So when I say something daft like "keep thinking positively; I know it's all going to work out the way it's meant to" or "don't focus on the future right now; for now, just enjoy every moment you have together" or something equally inane, I really do believe those things ... as stupid as they sound. And I do mean them in the nicest possible way, you know. :o)

    1. Thank you, and I have never noticed you sucking at anything, Ms Insomniac. But even though I very much appreciate the sentiment of all the comforting words that are sent my way, that particular (and seemingly most common) one - "Stay positive" - is pretty much impossible for a chronically depressed misanthropist.

    2. Yeah, I used to hate it when my mother used to tell me to think positive, too. Never really worked all that well for me either. Funny how you end up offering the same advice as your parents, even though you hated having it said to you, isn't it? I guess it is really true what they say - you become your parents when you get older. **sob** ;o)

Lately I have been falling behind answering comments, for many reasons. But I read and cherish all of them! Your comments make my day, yay!
